A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives who manage the administration of Panchayati Raj Institutions. For a Grama Panchayat, it is the primary committee responsible for implementing the decisions of the Grama Sabha (village assembly) and handling day-to-day administration.The key components of a Panchayat are:President: The head of the Panchayat. They chair the meetings and oversee the overall functioning of the Panchayat.Vice President: Discharges the duties and responsibilities in the absence of the President.Ward Members: The representatives elected from each individual ward within the Panchayat.Standing Committees: Sub-committees formed to streamline decision-making in specific areas such as Finance, Development, Welfare, and Health & Education.
